Meteorologist warned of sudden temperature changes in June
June is a transitional month between spring and the peak of summer, so it can bring surprises both in the direction of abnormal cold and extreme heat. Forecaster and meteorologist Alexander Shuvalov told Izvestia about this.
"According to climatic data, the highest temperature of the year is observed in July in the middle zone of the European part of Russia. June is an intermediate month. By the end of the month, the temperature will rise, of course. The average temperature in the middle zone reaches +18... +19 degrees," he said.
At the same time, according to the meteorologist, the average monthly temperature in June can vary greatly.
"In some years, the temperature can be below +10 degrees. This is, of course, a unique case, but it happens. And the most recent frosts have sometimes happened in history in the very first days of June. This is also, of course, a unique phenomenon. But there were years on the contrary when the average monthly temperature exceeded +20 degrees, for example, in 1972 and in the 2010s," the meteorologist warned.
The expert also drew attention to the direct relationship that exists between the thermometer columns and the amount of rain. According to him, the more actively the air warms up, the higher the probability of heavy precipitation.
