Tens of thousands of civilians in the Kursk region have been granted the status of victims as a result of the attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on the border areas. This was announced on May 15 by Konstantin Korpusov, head of the Main Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
He said that during the recording of crimes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), investigators carried out extensive work with the population.
"Over 206,000 people have been interrogated, and more than 87,000 people have been recognized as victims," TASS quoted him as saying.
