The deputy Head of the Government of Abkhazia was injured in a domestic conflict.

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government of Abkhazia Christian Bzhania was shot during a domestic conflict. This was reported on May 14 on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.

"According to preliminary data, on May 14, 2026, in the village of Tamysh, Ochamchira district, at about 03:30 hours, a domestic conflict occurred between Christian Vladimirovich Bzhaniya and Vladislav Zurabovich Bzhaniya, during which the latter fired shots at K. V. Bzhaniya," the ministry said.

It is noted that the victim was taken to the Central District Hospital in the village of Agudzera, Gulrypsh district. The attacker was reportedly taken to the district police station.

At least ten people died as a result of the incident.

The BBC reported on May 2 that four people were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds after a shooting in Brixton, south London. It is specified that there were no arrests, the investigation is ongoing.
