- The Museum of Modern History of Russia has opened an exhibition about Vladimir Zhirinovsky
On May 14, the Museum of Modern History of Russia opened the exhibition "Zhirinovsky Forever", which is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the Liberal Democratic Party.
"Zhirinovsky today <...> with his brilliant predictions (and he, not being a psychic, simply knew how to look into the future by virtue of his intellect) made his name immortal. He gave accurate forecasts, the number of which is now measured in the hundreds... He devoted his whole bright, poignant life to the people of Russia and to every family," said Leonid Slutsky, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party.
The curator was Zhirinovsky's daughter Anastasia Botan-Kharchenko. She said that the name of the exhibition is due to the fact that the politician will forever remain in the history of Russia. According to her, the event was organized in accordance with the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on celebrating the 80th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the Liberal Democratic Party.
The exhibition is based on items from the stock collection of the Museum of Modern History. Some of the items that entered his collection were personally donated by Zhirinovsky, his staff, relatives, as well as the Vladimir Zhirinovsky Memorial and Heritage Foundation. The exhibition is decorated with "book bookmarks" about the key stages of the LDPR leader's life.
"Vladimir Volfovich is a full recipient of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, and our president has always emphasized Zhirinovsky's role in strengthening the state. His most important legacy is the people, the party, and his contribution to the creation of a powerful collective, a powerful ideological All—Russian People's Party," said Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports, head of the Russian Olympic Committee, and a member of the Liberal Democratic Party.
On April 25, Putin announced that the fulfillment of Zhirinovsky's "predictions" was not unusual, as they were based on a deep knowledge of the topics. The Head of State stressed that Zhirinovsky was a well-educated man who was able to express his thoughts competently.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, noted that Zhirinovsky was unique as a politician and had an extremely high level of education. According to the press secretary of the Russian president, many forget about this quality of the leader of the Liberal Democrats in the fullness of his emotional speeches.
