Gorvodokanal washed 74 km of water supply networks in Pskov

Specialists of Gorvodokanal in Pskov have washed 74 km of water supply networks in the first four months of the current 2026. This was reported by the press service of the municipal enterprise on Thursday, May 14.

As explained in the organization, regular flushing of networks is necessary to improve water quality, remove sediments, prevent accidents and restore the capacity of water pipelines.

During operation, rust, sand and silt, mineral and organic deposits, scale and fragments of welding seams can accumulate in pipes, the Pskov News feed writes.

If deposits are not periodically removed, they can lead to secondary contamination of the water after it is cleaned at the plant, narrow the inner diameter of the pipes, reduce network capacity and become a breeding ground for bacteria.
