The introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the top priorities of the construction industry. This was announced on May 14 by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, speaking at the international economic forum "Russia — the Islamic World: Kazanforum".

"Today, AI allows you to build faster, reduce costs and make housing better and more affordable. The future belongs to him. It is important to take this into account in our work. Further growth and development of the construction site is impossible without information technology. We set the task of developing artificial intelligence and digital technologies as one of the most important for the industry," he said at the event, which was broadcast on the forum's website.

Khusnullin added that in order to further scale the use of AI tools in construction in the Russian Federation, it is necessary to create a regulatory framework that will stimulate innovation rather than restrain it, as well as provide training for specialists capable of working at the junction of construction and digital technologies. He also pointed out the need to develop domestic solutions in this area for the sake of industry independence.

Valery Tumin, director of the Russian and CIS Markets at Pham Properties, said in an interview with Izvestia earlier in the day that the initiative of the Ministry of Construction to use artificial intelligence to control half of the houses under construction by 2030 looks quite feasible. According to the expert, by 2030, artificial intelligence can indeed become a key control tool at a construction site and an important assistant to designers. However, to do this, the market will have to solve three tasks: to reduce the cost of technological solutions, train specialists, and build trust in algorithms.
