Pensioner gave 12.5 million rubles to fraudsters on Sakhalin

In the Sakhalin Region, a 72-year-old woman was injured as a result of fraud. The pensioner lost 12.5 million rubles.

According to the victim, in April she received a call from a stranger who introduced himself as a law enforcement officer. He said that someone was allegedly trying to transfer funds from the pensioner's accounts abroad. To "protect" the savings, the interviewee suggested "declaring" the funds. Acting according to the instructions of the scammer, the woman flew to Moscow and handed over the money to the courier. SakhalinMedia news agency writes about this.

In the Tymovsk district, a 45-year-old woman became a victim of fraud. She transferred funds to outside accounts, hoping to receive income from operations with digital assets, and lost more than 2.7 million rubles.

In the Khabarovsk Territory, a woman gave 4.5 million rubles to fraudsters. The scammers threatened the victim with criminal liability for treason.
