The festival "Traditions and Modernity" will bring together artists from Russia, Asia, Europe and Africa

The International Festival of Contemporary Art "Traditions and Modernity" will bring together more than 80 galleries and independent artists from Asian, African and European countries in Moscow. It will be held from June 11 to 14 in Gostiny Dvor and will unite key areas of contemporary art.

The works will be presented by authors and galleries from Russia, Turkey, Congo, China, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Iran, Iraq, Libya and other countries. The exhibition will cover eight areas: painting, sculpture, photography, digital and applied art, installation, museum work and jewelry, which is included in the program for the first time.

"The festival is not just an exhibition space, but a platform for cultural diplomacy. We create an environment where people from different countries engage in dialogue, find common ground, and form professional connections. Today it is especially important to speak the language of art and creativity. It unites, strengthens trust, and makes you feel like you're part of a larger cultural world. We are consistently expanding the boundaries of the project, opening new directions and supporting both recognized masters and young authors," said Yulia Mednikova, Vice President of the festival.

The central event of the festival will be the presentation of the international prize in the field of fine arts — the bronze statuette "Vera".

The qualifying stage of the Space Harbor youth competition will also be held at the festival site. Participants will present projects for cities of the future on the water — autonomous platforms where you can live, work and explore the world. These concepts consider the ocean as a "training ground" for space exploration: from life support systems to the organization of daily life. The audience will see how young artists and designers propose to rethink the human environment.

The business and educational program of the festival includes open lectures for novice collectors, a round table on copyright, and a discussion of the impact of art on the development of technology. Creative workshops are planned for families with children.

The festival is supported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Moscow Department of Culture. The project is aimed at developing cultural exchange, supporting contemporary art and finding new names.

"Traditions and Modernity" was established in 2006. During the existence of the festival, more than 7 thousand galleries and artists from more than 60 countries took part in it. The number of visitors exceeded 5.5 million people. 357 laureates were awarded the Vera Prize.
