On May 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to publicly discuss the key rate issue during a speech at the jubilee X Congress of the Russian Engineering Union.

"I'm not going to talk about the sad, I'm not going to talk about the key rate, I'm not going to talk about the need for long money and the strengthening of the ruble," he said.

At the same time, the Russian leader stressed that the current economic situation in the country is constantly in his field of attention. Putin added that he regularly holds meetings with representatives of the Russian government and the Central Bank to discuss the state of the economy.
