MGPU will host open days for applicants

Moscow City Pedagogical University (MGPU) will hold open days for applicants: on May 20 — in online format, and on May 23 — offline, said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

During the events, the guests will receive information about the areas of study, admission rules and new study opportunities at the university. Career consultants will be waiting for visitors to help them understand their future professional trajectories. At the fair of student organizations, students at MGPU will share with applicants the schedule of a student's regular day, talk about university life, extracurricular projects and existing communities. In addition, guests will be able to evaluate their admission opportunities, as well as take a test to find out if they are ready to become teachers.

"Today, the Moscow State Pedagogical University is becoming a key platform for training highly qualified teachers for the capital's education system. This is not just a change in the educational model, but the creation of a full-fledged professional trajectory for a future specialist: with high-quality subject training, plenty of practice, mastering digital competencies and guaranteed employment. We want graduates to come to school as confident, strong and motivated teachers of a new generation, ready to work with children in a modern educational environment," said Rakova.

This year, MSPU is expanding opportunities for applicants: for the first time, a targeted recruitment will be opened: students will be provided with free tuition and guaranteed employment in Moscow schools after graduation.

In total, 1,150 budget places have been allocated for bachelor's and basic higher education programs, about 60% of them are targeted, the rest will be distributed through a general competition.
