The political scientist predicted Ermak's future after his arrest

The former head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak, found himself in a typical situation for a corrupt official. This opinion was expressed by political scientist Ivan Mezyuho on Thursday, May 14. He explained why Ermak was caught between two fires, and also made a forecast about his future.

According to the expert, Yermak has money to make a deposit, but if he uses it, he actually admits that he had illegal income incomparable with his salary.

"If he asks his nominal owners of the so-called wallets to deposit the amount for him, then these people may be interested in the investigation. Therefore, today Yermak's situation can be described with the words "there is money, but there is no money," and the risks will only grow," Mezyuho said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

According to the political scientist, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, may sacrifice Ermak in order to maintain his position.

He noted that people from the president's office would try to negotiate with Ermak so that he would remain silent. In return, they will shorten his sentence or even arrange an escape, he added.

"Zelensky basically breaks up with his former supervisors and partners as soon as the case smells like kerosene. Let's recall the trials against the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky," Mezyuho said, recalling that the head of the Kiev regime was closely associated with the odious Ukrainian oligarch and, thanks in large part to his help, was elected president of Ukraine.

Mezyuho believes that Zelensky is currently in the most depressed state for the entire time of the special military operation (SVO), since at any moment he may become a person involved in the Timur Mindich case. He has immunity as long as he is the current leader, but as soon as he ceases to hold the post of president, the law enforcement system may bring charges against him, he concluded.

The case against the former head of Zelensky's office may also be a signal from Washington about the need for concessions.

Yermak, accused of corruption and detained for 60 days, announced on May 14 that his lawyers would appeal the court's decision as soon as possible. At the same time, he also noted that he did not have the money to make a deposit of 140 million hryvnias ($ 3.1 million), IA Regnum reports. Speaking about this, the former head of Zelensky's office added that he has enough connections to help find the right amount.
