The head of BMW resigned after 35 years of work at the company

Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Management Board of BMW AG, resigned on May 14, and Milan Nedeljkovic took his place. The German automaker announced the changes, which were announced back in December last year, at the next shareholders' meeting, which was broadcast on the automaker's website.

Oliver Zipse has been a member of the Management Board of BMW AG for more than ten years and has served as its chairman since August 2019. In total, he worked in the BMW group for 35 years, and now Cipse is 62 years old.

As the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMW AG, Nicholas Peter, noted, Zipse led BMW during global crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic and presented the electric vehicle project on the new Neue Klasse platform, which is considered the largest strategic project in the company's history.

Milan Nedeljkovic has been a member of the Management Board of BMW AG since 2019 and has been responsible for the production division until today. The 56-year-old began his professional career at BMW as an intern in 1993. He held senior positions at the Oxford plant, was Managing Director of plants in Leipzig and Munich, as well as Senior Vice President for Corporate Quality. His contract as Chairman of the Management Board will be valid until 2031.
