A new wave of corruption scandals will engulf Ukraine in the coming weeks. This opinion was expressed by political scientist and publicist Georgy Dibrov on Thursday, May 14.

The political scientist called the recent interview of Zelensky's former press secretary Yulia Mendel to American journalist Tucker Carlson a way to once again increase attention to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his corrupt entourage.

He recalled that in an interview, Mendel said that the Ukrainian leader was preventing the signing of peace agreements because it was tantamount to political suicide for him, and he was also using Ukrainians as expendable material.

"Separately, she spoke about Ermak, his semi-criminal lifestyle, super profits and money in bags. Despite the high—profile corruption scandal, he did not go to prison or go to the front, but hid due to strong ties with Zelensky," Dibrov said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

According to the expert, the United States, through Zelensky's once close circle, is considering various narratives on how to put the president behind bars, and corruption is an effective instrument of pressure on him.

Dibrov noted that Zelensky's entourage will feel a new wave of "Mindichgate."

The political scientist recalled that Ukraine is a parliamentary—presidential republic, so it is highly likely that all the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, along with the speaker and the Prime Minister, are involved in corruption.
