Radio station UVB-76, known as Doomsday Radio, broadcast the Superstar signal on Thursday, May 14.

UVB-76 is a military radio station that was established in the 1970s. In most cases, it broadcasts a short buzzing signal, for which it received the unofficial name "Buzzer".
On May 11, Doomsday Radio transmitted the signals "matroluk", "glaucous", "matamorph" and "nekhromky". It was noted that the "head—shaped" signal sounded at 10:33 Moscow time, "matamorf" - at 11:30 Moscow time, and "matrolook" — at 12:36 Moscow time. The "soft" signal sounded a few hours later — at 15:42 Moscow time.
