Sales of the new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ frame SUV, which was introduced at the end of last year, have started in the Japanese market. The most compact model of the Land Cruiser range is offered in one package at a price of 4.5 million yen, the brand's press service reported on May 14. This is about 2.1 million rubles at the current exchange rate.

The name of the novelty refers to the FJ Cruiser model, which was produced in 2006-2022. The SUV turned out to be more compact than the Toyota RAV4 crossover, with a length of 4,575 mm and a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. In Japan, at launch, the model will be offered only with an atmospheric 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 163 hp (246 Nm), which is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system with a rear differential lock. The suspension has double wishbones in the front, and a four—lever design with a Panar thrust in the rear.

The list of equipment includes diode optics, 18-inch wheels, a 7-inch digital dashboard, a 12.3-inch center screen, heated steering wheel and seats, a Toyota Safety Sense package and other options. The salon is designed for five people. The trunk volume is 795 liters (1607 liters when the second row is folded).

The entry of the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ into the Japanese market followed the introduction of the model in Thailand, where its production was established. The SUV will also be sold in South Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Latin America and India. Europe and North America are excluded from the list of Land Cruiser FJ markets, the first because of strict environmental regulations, the second because of high import duties.

Earlier that day, it was reported that the Geely Coolray crossover, which returns to the Russian market in an updated form, will go on sale in one package at a price starting from 2.89 million rubles, excluding special programs.
