AvtoVAZ resumed work after a corporate vacation

AvtoVAZ, in accordance with the annual plan, resumed work after the traditional single corporate vacation in May. This was reported to Izvestia on May 14 by the company's press service.

During the paid corporate vacation period from May 1 to May 13, it was planned to carry out a large-scale complex of works on the installation of new technological equipment for the launch of production of the Lada Azimut crossover, modernization of the assembly line for the Lada Niva family of SUVs, as well as repair and maintenance of main facilities and production systems. It is noted that the May stage of modernization will lead to an increase in the productivity of the units in which the work is carried out.

The volume of more than 15 thousand works amounted to 110 thousand man-days, the total budget of events exceeded 530 million rubles. Among the tasks are the commissioning of new machining centers in the engine industry, where new 1.6—liter (more than 120 hp) and 1.8-liter (more than 130 hp) engines will be produced, equipment upgrades in the painting and welding shops, as well as in the car assembly complex.

To date, more than 96% of the planned tasks have been completed. All work will be completed by May 18 without affecting the production plan, the company stressed.

Earlier, on May 7, it was reported that in April of this year, sales of Lada Iskra family cars in Russia amounted to 3,236 vehicles. This is the maximum monthly result for the model since its launch in July last year.
