US President Donald Trump and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping have agreed to hold meetings of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), as well as the G20 summit during 2026. This was reported by the Xinhua news Agency on May 13.

"The heads of state agreed to support each other and hold an informal meeting of APEC leaders and the G20 summit this year," the text says.

It is clarified that during the conversation, Trump and Xi Jinping alternately interacted with entrepreneurs, and the day before, the economic and trade teams of both countries were able to achieve a balanced and positive overall result. Such steps, according to the agency, are "good news" for the peoples of "the whole world."

On the same day, Xi Jinping and Trump touched upon Ukraine, the Middle East and the Korean Peninsula in their discussions during talks in Beijing. It was noted that the leaders of the states exchanged their views on these issues. At the same time, Xi Jinping noted the importance of the mutual benefits of the US-China trade partnership.

The head of the White House arrived in China on a state visit a day earlier. This trip was his first in the last nine years.
