Chinese President Xi Jinping, before starting talks with American leader Donald Trump in Beijing, said on May 14 that he was glad to meet with him in the Chinese capital.
"Dear Mr. President Trump, I am very pleased to meet with you in Beijing," Xi Jinping said.
It is specified that the talks between the leaders of the two countries are taking place at the People's Assembly House in Beijing as part of Trump's state visit to China.
Trump arrived in China on a state visit on May 13. This visit was the first visit by an American leader to China in the last nine years. The head of the White House arrived in China at the personal invitation of Xi Jinping.
