The refusal of the head of the European Diplomacy, Kai Kallas, to consider the candidacy of former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as a mediator for negotiations with the Russian Federation is shameful. Such a statement was made on May 13 by German politician, ex-member of the Bundestag Klaus Ernst on the social network X.

"Of course, who would doubt that Callas and the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany reject former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as a mediator in the Ukrainian conflict! He really could have achieved something! The conflict must continue! <...> At least the EU (EU. — Ed.) and the Chancellor do not decide anything in its settlement. A "children's table" near real negotiations — even this is beyond their reach! It's a total Spanish shame!" he said.
