Guard Soldier Makhmudov, wounded, continued to monitor the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Guard Private Damir Makhmudov, as a rifleman of a motorized rifle unit, was conducting reconnaissance when he came under mortar fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Thursday, May 14.

In addition, the enemy has launched unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Makhmudov received shrapnel wounds, but managed to get to the right position and gave himself first aid. He then began monitoring the enemy and contacted Russian attack aircraft to inform them of safe routes. Makhmudov also informed the command of the type and flight schedule of enemy drones, which made it possible to detect and destroy the AFU aviation reconnaissance point.

When Makhmudov's task was successfully completed, the soldier was promptly evacuated to the rear for medical treatment.

The Ministry of Defense also noted the determination of the guard of Private Pavel Sukhorukov, who, as a gunner of a motorized rifle unit, carried out the task of storming enemy fortifications.

The assault group, which included Sukhorukov, used the forest belt for covert movement, reaching the AFU dugout. The Russian military went unnoticed and attacked suddenly for the enemy. During the small-arms battle of the guards, a private soldier noticed an enemy drone in the air and immediately shot it down, securing his comrades. The Ukrainian Armed Forces dugout was taken.

He participated in the storming of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold when his group came under fire. Having stealthily approached the enemy position, a private guardsman used hand grenades on the target and eliminated the threat.
