Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Alexander Shuvaev, acting Governor of the Belgorod Region, and Egor Kovalchuk, acting Governor of the Bryansk Region. This became known on May 13 from presidential decrees.

"To appoint Alexander Mikhailovich Shuvaev as interim governor of the Belgorod Region until the person elected governor of the Belgorod Region takes office," the document says.
