In the southern Netherlands, in the city of Brunsum, a group of unknown assailants attacked two German soldiers serving at the NATO headquarters. The Bild newspaper wrote about this on May 13.

The newspaper reports that a group of unidentified masked men attacked two NATO soldiers, shouting slogans against NATO. The military received minor injuries. The Royal Military Police took over the investigation of the incident.

The newspaper clarifies that the NATO command in Brunsum is located near the border with Germany. This is one of the key operational headquarters of the organization, which is responsible for the defense of Central Europe.

Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish national conservative Freedom Alliance party, said on April 29 that NATO is an aggressive alliance. According to the politician, the Finnish authorities are also trying to convince citizens that the Russian side allegedly poses a threat. Mema noted that this is being done to justify the initiative for a new law allowing the import and storage of nuclear weapons (NWS) in the country.

Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, said that NATO will lose its relevance after the end of the confrontation with the Russian Federation. The expert stressed that a possible end to the conflict, including at the initiative of US President Donald Trump, could cast doubt on the very necessity of the existence of the North Atlantic Alliance.
