The deputy of the Bundestag from the AFG Cotre intends to take part in the SPIEF

Member of the Bundestag Steffen Cauterets, a member of the opposition party "Alternative for Germany" (ADH), 13 may, confirmed his visit to Russia to participate in St. Petersburg international economic forum (SPIEF-2026).

"I will go to St. Petersburg and take part in the economic forum," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The politician added that the upcoming trip will be a factional one. He clarified that the issue of who exactly he will meet at the event is now being resolved.

The stabilization of the oil market may become one of the key topics of discussion in St. Petersburg.

The Politico newspaper reported on May 7 that European Parliament member Fernand Kartheiser is looking for like-minded people to go to the SPIEF. Then the initiator refused to disclose the names of those colleagues who expressed a desire to join his trip.

On the same day, Vittorio Torrembini, President of the Association of Italian Entrepreneurs in Russia, said that his country's business community would also be widely represented at the SPIEF. According to him, the turnout will be ensured even despite the pressure exerted by the European Union (EU).
