During the days of Peter's Fast, believers are encouraged to confess and receive communion. Philip Ilyashenko, a priest and vice-rector of St. Tikhon's Orthodox University for the Humanities, told Izvestia how to prepare for these rituals.

"Before confession, it is necessary to pray and remember what was done wrong in the last period from the previous confession. I advise you to write down what you want to repent of on a piece of paper, so as not to forget. It is also necessary to pray before communion. Your confessor will tell you which prayers to read," the priest said.

You can also receive Communion on July 12, the memorial day of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, which ends the Peter Fast.

"On the memorial day of the first Apostles Peter and Paul, the church day begins with a festive divine service. A liturgy is also held on this day. If a person is sick and cannot attend the service, then you can call the priest home," Ilyashenko said.

Earlier, the priest, the head of the Youth Department of the Stavropol Diocese, Alvian Tkhelidze, told Izvestia whether it was possible to seek help from deceased relatives.
