A court in Samara has sentenced Oleg Boyko, the former head of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, who is accused of accepting bribes worth more than 70 million rubles. This was reported on May 13 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
The man received a sentence of 11 years in prison. He also has to pay a fine four times the amount of the bribe — almost 294 million rubles.
In addition, Boyko was stripped of the special rank of Major General of the internal service and banned from holding organizational, administrative and economic positions for eight years.
Boyko was also charged 73 million rubles, the amount of illegally obtained monetary compensation. In case of lack of funds, his property will be turned into state income. The other five defendants in the case, including two bribe-givers, were sentenced from 5.5 to 8 years.
Boyko was detained in December 2023. A criminal case was opened against him, and the former head of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations was charged with accepting a bribe. At the same time, two representatives of a commercial organization were detained in the case, from whom he received funds.
In August 2024, the former head of the department pleaded guilty, it became known that the other defendants were the heads of companies Guschin and Tyutyunnik. Later, on October 22, 2024, Igor Dakhno, the former head of the Samara Region Department of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) of Russia, was detained in the Boyko case.
