By the end of 2025, premium brands accounted for 24% of the total retail sales of passenger car tires in Russia, and this figure has been growing for the third year in a row. This is stated in the message of the Cordiant holding, which was received by Izvestia on May 13.

According to him, the share of premium brands in traditional retail (offline stores and traditional online stores of tire specialists) reached 27%, and the share of premium tire brands in marketplaces was 20%.

The company noted that the withdrawal of foreign tire brands from the Russian market has freed up an entire segment. Thus, in 2021, the share of the premium segment in the retail passenger tire market reached 28%. At the same time, 25% of this category was occupied by foreign brands, which subsequently left the Russian market, representatives of the holding indicated. In turn, in the "A" (premium) and "B" (medium) segments, the majors collectively occupied 34%.

The newspaper Kommersant reported on May 6 that the production of tires for passenger cars in the first quarter of 2026 decreased by 23.26% year-on-year and amounted to 6.66 million units. Experts attribute the negative dynamics of production to the pressure of Chinese imports.

On April 16, major car tire manufacturers asked the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) to protect the Russian market from increasingly increasing imports, mainly from China. China accounts for about 75% of supplies, mainly budget segment tires.
