As part of ensuring women's health, Moscow is actively implementing a new standard of outpatient obstetric and gynecological care, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said in his channel in the Maks messenger.

As the mayor of the capital explained, the main difference of the standard is the provision of Muscovites with the entire range of services throughout their lives, including regular preventive examinations and pregnancy management, within the framework of a complete complex, including a women's health center, a perinatal center and a gynecological department of a multidisciplinary hospital.

The main component of the standard is women's health centers. These are modern medical institutions with extensive diagnostic capabilities. By the end of last year, 16 centers had been opened in the capital, replacing the usual women's consultations.

In 2024, for the first time in the country, a project to support women's reproductive health, "I will Become a mother," was launched in the capital. Its goal is to help Muscovites between the ages of 18 and 39 plan their pregnancies. As part of the project, the neonatal screening program has been expanded to include 38 hereditary diseases. Six specialized treatment centers for children have also been established on the basis of the largest multidisciplinary clinics in the capital. In addition, a new multidisciplinary complex of the St. Vladimir Children's City Clinical Hospital was opened last year.
