The sowing campaign is being carried out in eight districts of Transbaikalia

The sowing campaign is underway in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Eight districts have already joined it. Agricultural enterprises are increasing their acreage.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, with reference to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, farms began to enter the fields on May 11. Now the indicator of 2025 has been slightly exceeded: spring sowing was carried out on an area of 22.4 thousand hectares. This is 17.3% of the planned amount. In the same period last year, 22.1 thousand hectares were sown.

The main volume consists of oilseeds. They occupy 18.7 thousand hectares. Grain crops were placed on an area of 3.7 thousand hectares.

In Uletovsky and Chita districts, they started planting potatoes and vegetables in the open ground. 64 hectares were allocated for them.

In the coming days, up to 10 more districts of Transbaikalia will join the sowing campaign.

Earlier it was reported that about 3 thousand units of agricultural machinery will be involved in spring field work in Transbaikalia. The sowing campaign will begin after May 10.
