The immunologist pointed out that the outbreak of hantavirus was unlikely to turn into a pandemic.

Currently, there is no question of a scenario in which an outbreak of hantavirus could develop into an epidemic or pandemic. This was announced on May 13 by immunologist Nikolai Kryuchkov.

"Now, of course, there is no talk of epidemics or pandemics. This, in general, is determined by the properties of the virus itself, as well as the ongoing anti—epidemic measures," he told Komsomolskaya Pravda radio.

The expert noted that the current outbreak of the virus on the MV Hondius cruise ship is large and has already attracted attention. According to him, this is due to the involvement of citizens of many countries in this incident.
