Kallas stated the EU's readiness to monitor the observance of the ceasefire in Ukraine

The European Union (EU) intends to use satellites to monitor the ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine when such a regime is reached. This was stated on May 11 by the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, at a press conference following a meeting of the EU Security Council.

"We are also advancing efforts to ensure EU security guarantees during the truce. This includes strengthening the European Satellite Center so that it can support the monitoring of the ceasefire," she said.
