A criminal case against Eduard Ilyin, the former head of the Vasileostrovsky district of St. Petersburg, was dropped due to receiving an award during a special military operation. This was announced on April 12 by the St. Petersburg United Press Service.

"In accordance with Article 78.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, criminal prosecution against Ilyin was terminated in connection with the award of a state award received during military service," the press service wrote on the Telegram channel.
