Fuad Seifullayev, lecturer at the Department of Surgical Diseases at Synergy University, Maxillofacial surgeon, spoke about the prevention of Alzheimer's disease.

In conversation with the agency RuNews24.Ru On Tuesday, May 12, a specialist noted that Alzheimer's disease begins to develop long before the first symptoms appear — often as early as 40-45 years old. According to him, modern research shows that the accumulation of amyloid plaques in the brain can begin 15-20 years before memory impairment.

The specialist noted that today doctors increasingly associate the development of the disease not only with age, but also with metabolic health, lifestyle, chronic inflammation, diabetes and hypertension. According to him, that is why the disease was no longer perceived as "ordinary senile dementia."

The expert emphasized that prevention includes regular physical activity, weight and blood pressure control, sleep normalization and active socialization. He explained that quality sleep helps the brain to get rid of toxic proteins, and physical activity supports the functioning of blood vessels and the lymphatic system. According to Seifullaev, taking care of health in middle age can help maintain mental clarity and delay the development of neurodegenerative diseases for decades.

Science Daily magazine wrote on May 10 that eating eggs can reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease in people over 65 by 27%. According to the publication, even a small amount of eggs in the diet showed a positive effect during the study. The researchers took into account not only the direct consumption of eggs — for example, in the form of scrambled eggs or boiled eggs — but also their content in baked goods, sauces and ready-made products. kp.ru .

At the same time, scientists from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria found that even one sleepless night can cause changes in the brain similar to the manifestations of Alzheimer's disease. The researchers noted that people between the ages of 18 and 64 need to sleep from seven to nine hours a night, and younger children need even more. 360.ru .

In April, neurologist Ekaterina Demyanovskaya explained the connection of sleep disorders with Alzheimer's disease. In the early stages of the disease, it becomes more difficult for brain structures to control the phases of sleep and wakefulness, which makes it worse for a person to fall asleep, wake up at night and feel pronounced drowsiness during the day, RT notes.

Earlier Pravda.Ru She wrote that the exact causes of the disease have not been fully studied. Meanwhile, scientists associate its development with a genetic predisposition, accumulation of protein deposits in the brain, disorders of the structure of neurons, as well as vascular diseases, including hypertension and diabetes. Chronic inflammatory processes can also increase the risk of dementia.

In December, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Evgeny Rogaev stated that the genetic selection of embryos during IVF can help prevent the development of a hereditary early form of Alzheimer's disease. According to him, mutations in the PSEN1 and PSEN2 genes are almost guaranteed to lead to a severe early onset of the disease.
