UserGate: Mamont Trojan began infecting 30 thousand devices in Russia every month

The Mamont Trojan, which was previously called one of the most massive Android viruses of 2025, continues to actively spread among users in Russia in 2026. It infects about 30 thousand devices every month. This was announced on May 12 by the information security company UserGate.
According to experts, in January and February 2026, the largest number of infections was recorded on smartphones of the Chinese brands Tecno and Infinix — more than 12 thousand and over 6 thousand cases, respectively. The affected devices also include Redmi smartphones (Xiaomi's sub-brand).
