Sobyanin spoke about the construction of the Novorizhskoye electric depot

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin inspected the construction of the Novorizhskoye electric depot, which will serve the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line. This was announced on Tuesday, May 12, according to the press service of the Moscow City Hall.

According to the mayor, the first stage of the construction of the line is planned to be completed in 2026, the second in 2027, according to the Moscow City News agency. The official noted that the new stations and tunnels conceal a large-scale engineering infrastructure, without which the metro operation is impossible. He stressed that the depot is being built using modern technologies and will be able to simultaneously service about 30 trains. The mayor also expressed the hope that the facility will be able to be built on schedule — in about a year and a half.

The depot will appear next to Novorizhskoye highway on the territory of Krasnogorsk. More than 520 employees will work there, and Moscow-2026 trains are planned to be serviced. In 2026-2027, the Moscow Metro will purchase more than 700 such wagons, writes Moscow 24.

Excavation, installation of structures and construction of buildings are currently underway at the facility. The depot's readiness is estimated at 15%, and construction is planned to be completed by the end of next year, NSN notes.
