Russia is gradually implementing the concept of developing nuclear forces to ensure the overcoming of missile defense systems (ABM). This was announced on May 12 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the military.

"In Russia, work has begun on the creation of promising complexes that have no global analogues, ensuring the guaranteed overcoming of existing and promising missile defense systems. We are gradually implementing the nuclear forces development program adopted in this regard," Putin said.
