The Ministry of Labor announced the right of two working parents to issue a decree for twins

In the case of the birth of twins in the family, parental leave can be issued immediately by both parents if both of them are working. In this case, a monthly child care allowance is also issued for each parent, the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation reported on May 12.

"In this case, each of the parents who actually take care of the child will be entitled to a monthly child care allowance for up to 1.5 years," the agency's page on the Maks messenger says.

If both parents take parental leave, mom for one child and dad for the other, each will receive a monthly payment of 40% of average earnings for the two calendar years preceding the year of the start of maternity leave (but not less than the established minimum amount of this benefit).

If only one parent is on vacation, they will receive an allowance of 40% of the average earnings per child. The total payout amount will be 80% (40%+40%) of the average earnings for two calendar years.

According to the politician, the faction has repeatedly submitted a corresponding proposal to the State Duma for consideration. Mironov said that women support the initiative. The parliamentarian also pointed out the need to extend child care benefits to three years.
