Two men were detained in Transbaikalia for burning a cable near a forest

In Transbaikalia, two men were detained who were burning a cable near a forest in Chita. On Tuesday, May 12, the press service of the regional Ministry of Forestry reported on social networks.

The violators were caught by employees of Zabaikalleskhoz, writes ChitaMedia news agency. While patrolling the area, they noticed black smoke and promptly moved to the fire.

Upon arrival, the inspectors found a car with a trailer and two intruders who were engaged in firing non-ferrous metal. The men were taken to the Ingodinsky police department.

A special fire protection regime is in effect throughout the region. Any work involving the use of an open flame is strictly prohibited. Arson can result in up to 10 years in prison.

Earlier it was reported that 57 video cameras included in the Lesohranitor system will be purchased in Transbaikalia. The devices will allow for round-the-clock monitoring of possible fires in the west, northeast and south of the region.
