Psychologist Yulia Belkina explained the dangers of unnoticed depression and what diseases it triggers.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, May 12, she explained that health problems can be the result of mental overload: this is how she puts an unbearable burden on the body.
The specialist warned that the main danger of emotional exhaustion lies in its long-term consequences. According to her, stress often leads to the development of chronic diseases, including gastrointestinal problems, migraines, vascular and cardiovascular diseases, as well as autoimmune disorders.
The specialist noted that a healthy lifestyle, sports, vitamins and sleep patterns help to support the body, but this is not enough without solving internal psychological conflicts. As an example, Belkina cited a situation where a person continues to work at an unloved job due to obligations, experiencing stress on a daily basis, which can eventually lead to depression.
To avoid serious consequences, the expert advised not to start taking sedatives and sleeping pills on your own, but if there is no improvement after a full rest, take a psychological test and, if necessary, consult a specialist — a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist or psychiatrist.
