China has increased the supply of manufactured goods to other countries to such an extent that its income from trade has reached the size of the GDP of Switzerland, one of the richest countries in the world. This is stated in the report of the US Chamber of Commerce, published on the website of the Rhodium Group research center on May 11.

"The trade surplus in the manufacturing industry is even larger, doubling from about $1 trillion in 2019 to about $2 trillion. — an increase equivalent to the entire GDP of Switzerland. As a share of GDP, the surplus now exceeds 6%, reaching a 15-year high," the report says.

Vietnam, India, Russia and Thailand have become key exporters of Chinese goods. At the same time, imports weakened, which had a particularly strong impact on large manufacturing economies. German exports to China decreased by 25% between 2021 and 2025, which amounts to a loss of almost €31 billion for the German budget.

On April 25, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China announced that it would take measures to protect its companies that were included in the 20th package of European Union (EU) sanctions against Russia. As part of another package of restrictions, the European regulator has blacklisted six organizations from China. The Chinese ministry stressed that Beijing intends to resolutely protect the legitimate rights and interests of national business.

On April 18, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, said that trade relations between Russia and China are balanced and practically equal. The diplomat noted that China, unlike the Europeans, relies on long-term contracts. According to him, Moscow is interested in supplies to China because the prices are good, and the partner is reliable and there are never failures.
