NATO is engaged in escalating tensions in the Baltic region. This was announced on May 12 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"As for security in the Baltic, the activities of NATO countries, not the Russian Federation, are contributing to the escalation of tension," he said at a briefing.
