The Verkhovna Rada announced the discussion of capitulation among the Ukrainian elite

On May 12, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Maxim Buzhansky said that the Ukrainian elites were thinking about capitulating in the conflict with Russia.

"Some of the elites shuddered in horror, <...> rightly assuming that in this way we are being led not to peace, but to complete and unconditional surrender — without conditions, guarantees and an understanding of what's next," Buzhansky wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, such a reaction in Kiev was caused by the presentation of charges by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) against the former head of the office of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, Andrei Ermak, in the case of the legalization of 460 million hryvnias.

They point to Zelensky's involvement in corruption schemes.

On May 11, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that searches were allegedly taking place in Yermak's apartment in Kiev. The parliamentarian clarified that there is no official confirmation of the charges yet.

"The country.ua reported on May 7 that ignoring the new NABU materials on the Mindich case would not help the country's authorities reduce the consequences of the corruption scandal. According to the newspaper, the main blow is aimed at Zelensky's entourage.
