The Federation Council told about citizens with the right to free dental prosthetics
At the federal level, the right to free dental prosthetics is available to several categories of citizens. Senator Igor Murog told about it on May 12.
According to him, Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia, full holders of the Orders of Glory and Labor Glory, as well as some military personnel and employees of law enforcement agencies are eligible for benefits.
"Emergency prosthetics are provided for patients with serious illnesses, such as maxillofacial cancer, if they have the appropriate medical documents," Murog explained in a conversation with RT.
The senator also clarified that military retirees can receive free prosthetics with a length of service of at least 20 years. However, there are mandatory criteria for this: dismissal based on age, health status, or in connection with organizational and staff events.
At the regional level, the list of beneficiaries may expand. Most often, it includes labor veterans, pensioners, and low-income citizens. Nevertheless, the conditions under which the service is provided vary greatly depending on the region and its budget.
On January 28, the leader of the Fair Russia Party (SR) and the head of the Duma faction, Sergei Mironov, proposed including free dental prosthetics for citizens of retirement and pre-retirement age as part of the basic compulsory medical insurance (MHI) program. According to the parliamentarian, many elderly people face dental problems, which directly affects their health.
