Ufa Mayor Mavliev, who was released from jail, was hospitalized
Ufa Mayor Ratmir Mavliev, who is being investigated for corruption, was hospitalized due to ill health, his lawyer Marat Samoilov told Izvestia on May 12.
"In the morning he was admitted to the republican clinical hospital. I know that I was hospitalized against the background of severe pain in my heart, which is associated with feelings against the background of this whole situation, which is currently developing," said the defender.
Samoilov also confirmed to Izvestia that Mavliev had appealed to the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, the Prosecutor General's Office and the FSB of the Russian Federation with a request to verify the legality of the criminal prosecution against him. According to the defender, no answers have been received yet.
The lawyer said that after his release from the pre-trial detention center (SIZO) and transfer to house arrest, Mavliev's hair and saliva samples were forcibly taken.
On May 6, the court released Mavliev from jail under house arrest. He is accused of bribery and abuse of office. The head of Ufa was detained on April 28. Then the press service of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Bashkortostan stated that he was suspected of committing illegal actions aimed at alienating municipal land. The area in question stretches over 1.3 thousand square meters and was assigned to one of the city's sanatoriums.
