The head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, should leave her post if the European Union (EU) is interested in restoring diplomatic ties with Russia. This was announced on May 12 by Glenn Diesen, Professor of Southeastern Norway.

"The EU needs a new foreign policy chief if it wants to restore diplomatic ties with Moscow and put an end to the conflict," he said on the social network X.

The expert pointed out that Callas holds radical views. He noted that she had also "stopped all diplomacy" to continue the conflict.

On May 11, during a briefing, Callas admitted that she could act as a potential EU negotiator in a future dialogue with Russia. She noted that at the moment Europe is not participating in the negotiation process and Brussels needs to discuss with the countries of the association "what concessions from Russia" the EU wants to see.
