A short working week has begun in the Russian Federation

A short working week has started in Russia, which will last from May 12th to 15th. This was announced on May 12 by Petr Petkilev, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure and Private International Law at the RUDN Law Institute.

"A shortened working week has begun in Russia (from May 12 to May 15)," Petkilev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, this year Victory Day fell on a Saturday, so the holiday weekend was postponed to Monday, May 11.

Head of the K.N. Gusov Department of Labor Law and Social Security Law at O.E. Kutafin University (MGUA) Nadezhda Chernykh announced on May 11 that Russians can extend their vacation during the May holidays by adding paid annual leave, unpaid leave, or previously earned rest days. The expert clarified that another option could be a vacation without pay. According to her, such leave must be provided to certain categories of employees, including pensioners, the disabled, relatives of military personnel, as well as employees of law enforcement and other bodies.
