Bloomberg reported a drop in Merz's rating as chancellor to 16%
The rating of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has dropped to a historic low: only 16% of German citizens approve of the politician's activities. This was reported on May 8 by Bloomberg with reference to a Deutschlandtrend survey conducted by Infratest Dimap for the ARD public broadcasting company.
"A year after taking office, Merz's rating as the current chancellor was only 16%. This is the lowest rating in the history of the company's surveys conducted in 1997. In addition, this is five percentage points less than in April," the publication says.
