More than 2.2 million Russians were vaccinated against tick-borne viral encephalitis in 2026

More than 2.2 million Russian residents were vaccinated against tick-borne viral encephalitis (CVE) in 2026. This was reported on May 12 by the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.

"The epidemiological situation of tick-borne infections in Russia remains stable. The largest number of tick bites was registered in the Chelyabinsk, Tver, Omsk, Irkutsk, Moscow, Leningrad, Kostroma, Samara regions, Altai and Krasnodar Territories, the Altai Republic and in St. Petersburg," the department said.

At the beginning of the season, more than 43 thousand people turned to medical organizations due to tick bites. At the same time, more than 46 thousand hectares of the territory are currently covered by preventive measures in places of mass stay of people, in the territories of educational and summer health facilities.
