The OCU (Orthodox Church of Ukraine) has officially announced the defrocking of Patriarch Nikodim Kobzar, head of the UOC-KP (Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate). This was announced on May 11 by the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ).

"On May 11, 2026, the Synod of the OCU, led by Epiphany Dumenko, decided to "defrocket" the head of the UOC—KP, Patriarch Nikodim Kobzar," the publication notes.
