Sobyanin announced the construction of a book school in the Basmanny district.

In Moscow, the approach to the design of educational facilities has changed significantly in recent years — "schools of the future" are being created in the capital, which are distinguished by their versatility, flexibility and spaciousness. This was announced by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his channel in Maks.

According to him, 15 such schools are planned to be built in Moscow in the coming years, one of them, which looks like an open book, will appear in the Yelokhovsky Passage of the Basmanny district. "The image of the open pages will help to create curved moll stained glass windows. And the large glass on the facade will fill the building with light," Sobyanin said.

The school is designed for one thousand students in grades 5-11. There will be four floors in the main part of the building, and two floors in the sports block area. An atrium with a glass roof is planned in the building, which will combine a dining room, a media library and a teacher's room.

In addition to the already familiar IT classrooms and workshops, the school will be equipped with individual music studios. Thus, the educational institution "will have everything for the harmonious development of children — intellectual, creative and physical," the mayor emphasized.

A day earlier, Sobyanin announced that a new course on the history of Moscow had been introduced in the capital's schools. The program, designed for students in grades 5-7, was developed by leading Moscow historians and educators. "In the fifth grade, children study the history of the city from ancient times to the middle of the 16th century, in the sixth — from the middle of the 16th century to the beginning of the 20th century," Sobyanin said. — The last part of the course is devoted to the events of modern history — it takes place in the 7th grade."

The textbooks include a variety of tasks of varying difficulty levels, illustrations, and historical maps with questions and tasks. The key sections are "Riddles of Moscow", "What are the names hiding?", "Moscow and Muscovites". Thanks to them, students will be able to get acquainted with historical facts, learn about the origin of the capital's toponyms and prominent personalities associated with the history of Moscow.
