The occupancy rate of underground gas storage facilities (UGS) in the European Union (EU) decreased to 35.05%. This is evidenced by the data in the report of the Association of European Gas infrastructure Operators Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).

As of May 10, there were about 35 billion cubic meters of gas in European UGS facilities. The indicator was 29.1 percentage points lower than a year earlier, and 12.4 percentage points less than the average for this date over the past five years.

According to GIE statistics, a lower occupancy rate was observed only in 2021, when it was 31.36%.

During the gas day from May 9 to May 10, gas injection into the storage facilities of the EU countries amounted to 0.3%. The largest volumes of downloads are recorded in Denmark, the Czech Republic and France.
